Headed South

Only a couple more days to go and I’m off to North Carolina with friends for some “real” mountain biking. Not that we don’t mountain bike in Michigan, but the “mountain” part is a bit lacking, especially when you compare to the mountains of western NC, Tsali Trail to be exact, here we come.

Fortunately, my new Cannondale RUSH Team Replica arrived last week and aside from bringing it into the bedroom (which my wife wouldn’t allow) I’ve been spending as much time on it as possible. What an awesome bike and I can’t wait to get it on some real trails for three straight days. Thanks again, Team Active, for your help and support.

On the fundraising front, I’ve accumulated over $1,700 in donations through my online site and am still on target to reach my $5,000 goal by June 17th. I’ve spoken with the editor at Michigan Banking Magazine and he’s doing a feature story on my race and even the promoter of the Lumberjack 100 has a blurb on the official race site to help promote my fundraising effort. Thanks Rick!

Hopefully as the media picks up on my event it will spur further donations and I’ll be able to shatter my goal. If you haven’t made your donation yet, please stop by. Every little bit helps!

See ya on the trail...
